William “Rusty” Osborne
Visiting Professor of Old Testament
Dr. Rusty Osborne has taught at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Hill City School of Theology, and Tyndale Theological Seminary. He’s been a part of the biblical and theological studies department at College of the Ozarks since 2012, where he teaches courses on Christian worldview, Old and New Testament, biblical languages, biblical interpretation, and Christian mission. He has pastored in Southern Baptist churches, served on the dig staff of the Tel Gezer Excavation in Israel, taught pastors in Kenya and Ethiopia with Training Leaders International, and been a visiting professor at Tyndale Theological Seminary in the Netherlands. He has published several books and articles, including Trees and Kings: A Comparative Analysis of Tree Imagery in Israel's Prophetic Tradition and the Ancient Near East (Penn State Univ. Press/Eisenbrauns, 2018), Divine Blessing and the Fullness of Life in the Presence of God (Crossway, 2020), co-edited Riddles and Revelations: Explorations into the Relationship between Wisdom and Prophecy in the Hebrew Bible (T&T Clark, 2018), and co-authored A Book-by-Book Guide to Biblical Hebrew Vocabulary (Hendrickson, 2020).
